The Earl chose the site carefully and then diverted the Glengarriff River to created a 2 acre island for the lodge.

Recently refurbished to a luxury standard by the current owners, the Lodge has 4 bedrooms and can accommodate 8 adults with ease. There’s plenty of living space, with a large open plan kitchen / dining area, a separate sitting room with open fire and a spacious conservatory overlooking the river. The Lodge is a beautiful blend of luxurious comfort and the historic. Literary luminaries such as Wordsworth and Thackery were guests of the Earl.
